8 - Roads and Regional Development
Introduction
A variety of activities such as mission visits, seminars and participation in a number of Annual Conferences of Window 8 of Partners for Roads programme took place in Slovakia, in cooperation with the Slovakian Road Administration.
The involvement of Slovakia within the Window 8 started in 2004 with its participation in the 1st Conference on Roads and Environment in Arnhem, the Netherlands and continued in the 2nd Conference in 2005 in Pokrzywna, Poland. Further, In 2005, Dutch Road Administration (RWS) realised a fact finding mission visit to Slovakia. During this mission, Slovak Road Administration, Ministry of Transport and Communications and the National Motorway Company were visited. Finally, in 2006, two activities took place: First, a Cost-Benefit Analysis Seminar for the Slovakian experts took place in Bratislava. Second, Slovakia was represented at the 4th Conference on Roads and Regional Development in Eger, Hungary.
