Introduction
Cooperation with Latvia within the Latgale project is based on the economy, environment and cooperation themes and involves an assortment of activities such as desk research, expert and site visits, workshops, seminars and training programmes, and the development of a toolkit, in which the exchange of knowledge and expertise has been the leading principle.
The Latgale Project started with an expert visit to Latvia (and Lithuania) in August 2005, and resulted in the production of a System Analysis Report. Execution of the Work Programme 2006 began in April 2006 and was marked by a high level visit, workshops and training programmes.
