The Conference was held from 14-18 September in Sinaia, Romania. This 6th Conference was co-hosted by the Dutch Rijkswaterstaat and the Romanian National Company of Motorways and National Roads. The following issues were reflected in this conference:
The Conference programme included keynote presentations, country presentations and workshops. On Monday September 14th all the participants arrived. The official opening of the Conference was held on Tuesday September 15th. The key note presentation by Ms Diane Dale was held on Tuesday, as well as a “Dream Session” in the afternoon. On Wednesday 16th September the theme of the country presentations and workshop was “Economy & Finance”, while on Thursday 17th September the theme was “Environment & Social Impact”. The conference evaluation, closing and departure took place on Friday 18th September. Also two site visits were organised. The site visit was dedicated to the Bucharest – Ploiesti Motorway, a Natura 2000 area.
The Conference venue was Sinaia, Romania. Situated in breath-taking mountain scenery, Sinaia is located at 120 km distance from Bucharest and 49 km from Brasov, on the Prahova valley.
