Managing long-term relationships
A national road organization often has to communicate with the same stakeholders in different road planning projects. It often pays to invest in long-term relationships with these groups, since that will make future road planning easier. The following approaches may be considered:
- Develop national guidance for road planning, and involve other groups in such projects
- Participate in (or initiate) spatial planning programs and projects, that may have effect on the desirable development of the road system
- Participate in (or take, with others, the initiative for) national platforms and meeting points for spatial development and transport development; invite different types of NGOs to these platforms
